Objective: To report out preliminary results of treatment of choledochal cyst (CC) by open and laparoscopic surgery. Material and Methods: 30 patients including 12 male and 18 female, aged from 2 months old to 12 years old. Diagnosis is confirmed by clinical and diagnostic imaging. 21 patients underwent open surgery and 9 patients laparoscopic surgery from 7/2007 - 30/7/2011. Results: After surgery 30 patients: mortality 0, leaking bile 1 medical therapy of patients with good results and safety of patients discharged from hospital. 29 patients with good: No bleeding, no bile duct infection, no wound infection, no abscess and no intestinal adhesion, no laparoscopy must be converted to open procedure. Conclusion: Treatment with open and laparoscopic surgery for choledochal cyst (CC) excision and hepaticojejunostomy or hepaticoduodenostomy is safe and effective.
