Purpose: to review the long-term results (3 to 42 months after surgery) of plastic surgery for ureteropelvic junction obstruction in children, using the Anderson-Hynes method by open operation and laparoscopic. Methods. Up to 140 cases of children with 120 kidneys had been operated (11 of the children have uretero-pelvic junction obstruction in both of their kidneys) from 1st January 2005 to 31st August 2008 at the Surgery Department of the Central Pediatric Hospital and the Pediatric Surgery Department of Viet - Duc Hospital. Results: 128 children underwent open operation and 12 children underwent laparoscopic, all with Anderson-Hynes method. The results have been reviewed and classified as 82.02 percent good, 7.55 percent fair and 9.43 percent bad. Conclusion: Pediatric surgeons have applied Anderson-Hynes in plastic surgery for ureteropelvic junction obstructioncutting the pathology and forming a new junction- in both open and laparoscopic. These operations yielded good results.
