Objective: Evaluate the result of metacarpophalangeal fixation with plate and screw in adult. Material and method: 30 patients was diagnosed metacarpophalangeal fractures and was operated at Orthopaedic and Traumma Department, Viet Duc Hospital from 1/2010 to 7/2011. Follow up more than three months. The result depends on: TAM (total active motion), X-ray, bone healing, rehabilitation, complication, and postoperative working ability. Results: TAM mean: 244 + or - 16.5°. Excellent and good patients are 96.7 percent. X-ray: There aren't any patients have angular deformity more than 10 degrees, and fracture displacement more than 3mm. One patient is delayed union (postoperative 3 months). There are no infection. In the common result, excellent. and good patients are 90 percent. Conclusion: Metacarpophalangeal fixation with plate and screw in adult is a suitable method, and have a good result.
