Objective: Describe and evaluate the effective of the technique for reimplantation the coronary arteries in treatment the congenital cardiac disease transposition of the great artery in National Hospital of Pediatrics Hanoi, Vietnam. Material and method: From 2009 September to 2011 May, 34 consecutive patients diagnose transposition of the great artery underwent total correction in National Hospital of Pediatrics Hanoi, Viet Nam. The implantation coronary technique using modified "trap door" technique was applied in all patients. Results: The mortality was 16.7 percent (6/34) with the early mortality. was 11.8 percent (4/34), the reoperation rate was 2.9 percent (1/34). The echocardiography post-operative show that normal ventricular wall motion and ventricular function is well in the entire cohort. Conclusion: The modified "trap door" technique to reimplante the coronary during total correction of transposition of great arteries is safe and effective, especially for young surgeon with less experience.
