Objective: To assess training capacity of programs on medical specialist I, specialist II, resident doctor, master and doctor of philosophy at some health human resource training facilities. Methodology: Cross-sectional descriptive study. Research subjects: Post-graduate training programs and health staff graduated from these programs in period of 2005-2007 and still working in health sector. Results: Most universities have all post-graduate training programs. Their specialist I program have totally 8 majors of paraclinic-fundamental medicine

9 majors of preventive medicine/public health and 7 majors of pharmaceuticals. Master programs of pharmaceutical and medical universities mainly focus on the major of clinic. The specialist II program has totally 17 majors of para clinic-fundamental medicine

14 majors of preventive medicine/public health and 13 majors of pharmaceuticals. Total majors of PhD and Specialist II are equivalent. The universities have a trend to focus on the majors of clinics. 89.1 percent specialist I participants, 86.1 percent specialist II and only 83.7 percent master participants reckon that the program contents was designed closely to their working. The percentage of participants assessed that the training programs are suitable to their working is highest at Thai Nguyen Pharmaceutical and Medical University (92 percent). The percentage of participants evaluated that lecturers have good professional capacity at the universities is relatively high, most of them achieved above 92 percent. Nearly half (46.8 percent) master, 58.1 percent specialist 1/ and 62.2 percent specialist I participants asserted that conditions of laboratories are good.
