The study was conducted at one high school and one secondary school in Nghe An province in 2012. Objective: To assess the state of Mental disorders and some risk factors of school pupils in Nghe An province in 2012. Subjects and Methods: The study was conducted on 1055 pupils and 120 teachers at Ha Huy Tap High School and Nghi Van secondary schools in academic year of 2012. Using cross-sectional descriptive study combined qualitative and quantitative. Results: (1) rate of pupils suffering from common mental disorders was 20.8 percent mild to severe. In particular, disturbances in social communication accounts for the highest rate (24.4 percent), 23.8 percent group relations, the lowest emotional disorders (13.3 percent). (2) Rate of pupils with mental disorders at Ha Huy Tap High School (24.9 percent) higher than Nghi Van secondary schools (16.6 percent), the difference was statistically significant. (3) Rate of pupils with mental disorders increase as the higher grade, ranking from 12.9 percent at grade 6 to 32.1 percent at grade 12. (4) More than 80 percent of the interviewed teachers have an accurate understanding of the causes of mental disorders pupils. Especially, 96.3 percent said that mental disorders were caused from the school and 73.4 percent that was caused by the family. Recommendation: There should be more research, more comprehensive pupils mental disorders in the province of Nghe An and suggest preventive measures to reduce the incidence of mental disorders in school age.
