Aims: To evaluate the result of the new surgical treatment for strabismus with double vision by surgery using the adjustable sutures technique. Methods and patients: Prospective clinical interventional study on 196 patients: Operated for Strabismus at Ho Chi Minh city Eye Hospital from 2001 to 2011. The time for strabismus exsis: 54.1 percent 2 years, 22. 9 percent from 2 - 5 years and 23 percent 5years. The surgery was done twice on one day: The first time: Local anesthesia
the resection was done as usual
the recession was done with adjustable sutures. The second time was done after the first time 6 hours: Anesthesia using drop only
let the patient wearing the Maddox glasses and adjust the suture bow until the patient see single vision. Results: 67 percent male, 33 percent female

The causes: 40.4 percent from traffic accidents, 17.8 percent from living accidents, 14.3 percent from diseases related to muscles and 27.5 percent idiopathic
Characters of strabismus: 79.6 percent tranverse strabismus, 8.7 percent vertical strabismus, and 11.7 percent combine strabismus
77.5 percent straight and see single vision. Conclusion: This method should can be done in any Ophthalmology Department in which the strabismus surgery have been done and brings the patients a lot of benefits.
