Objectives:To assess the safety and efficacy of the treatement by laparoscopic intervention used for managing benign adrenal cysts. Patients and methodes The files of over 400 patients presenting with adrenal ,masses was reviewed. retrospectively
all had a thorough history taken and a physical examination. The radiological evaluation included ultrasonography and computed tomography with contrast medium. According to their clinical situation, patients had laparoscopic intervention, cystectomy or adrenalectomy, The short term outcome of laparoscopic techniques were evaluated. the mean (SD, range) age at the time of presentation for adults was 38.5 years. The mean (SD, range) size of the cysts was 6.2 cm. laparoscopic intervention was the treatment of choice in 30 patients
The mean time of operations was 88 (40-240) minutes. The mean hospital stay was 4.2 + or - 1.8 days. The proportion of disasters, complications and conversions was 0 percent, 0 percent, respectively. Conclusions: Laparoscopic adrenalectomy is a safe and effective treatment for benign adrenal cysts.
