Objective: To study the clinical and paraclinical characteristics of the patients with tumors of periambulary of Vater and to determine the indications, results and postoperative complications of surgical treatment of these tumors. Material and method: Cross-sectional andl retrospective studies of 74 patients from June 2006 to October 2011 were operated because of periambulary of vater tumor. Results: The Whipple procedure was 241 cases (32.4 percent). Cholecystojejunostomy was done in 50 patients (67.6). Histologic examination is tumo of head of pancreas in 73 percent, tumor of ambulary of Vater in 23 percent, Tumos of the end of, choledoch in 2.7 percent, tumor of duodenum in 1.4 percent., The Whipple procedure team was Carcinoma in 75 percent with increasing of CA 19.9 (75 percent). Increasing Bilirubine 95.7 percent, Tumor in Abdominal contras CT-Scan in 72.2 percent. mean times ofl surgery in Cholecystojejunostomy was 108.5 7, 42.4 minutes, shorter than 299.4 + or - 62.6 minutes in Whipple procedure team (p 0.0l). Complications rate in the Whipple procedure was 16.7 percent, Death after Whipple procedure was 12.5 percent. Complications rate ini cholecystojejunostomy procedure was 8 percent, death 2.0 percent. Conclusion: The numbers of patientsin Whipple procedure is low because of silent evolution of disease so that the patients didn't care and being late in hospitalization. To make a diagnosis must combine clinical examination and paraclinical analyze to choose a suitable surgeryi procedure. The Wipple procedure is a severe procedure with high rates of complications andl death. So that the authors must prepare carefully andl technique must be skilled to make the treatments get better result.
