Objectives: Identify the effectiveness of the trans-thoracic wall biopsy in histology diagnosis of lung cancer. The safety and the technique of biopsy. The possibility to diagnose the histology characteristics through evaluating the sensitivity, speciality and the lung biopsy complications. Material and method: Cross-sectional study, clinical intervention. From 12/2010- 11/2011, in Cho Ray Hospital and No.115 Hospital, 38 lung tumors patients underwent trans-thoracic cutting needle biopsy using silverman cutting needle, In most of patients, the procedures were guided by CT, the histology of biopsy was compared by histology surgery. Results: Biopsy results were malignant in 38 cases, (not defined type malignant in 2). In 38 of patients (100 percent) were surgery treatment. histology surgery appropriate with result biopsy 36 cas (94.7 percent). Pneumothorax was seen in 1 patient (2.63 percent) and pleural drainage not required to treatment. Conclusion: This feasible, relatively safe and efficacy procedure has a definite place in the diagncisis of lung cancer with sensitivity: 94.7 percent, speciality: 100 percent. However, need to improve the techniqueto get the higher diagnosis values.
