The intervention study with the control group in the community amon.g 418 school girls from 16-8 years in High school Binh Luc B (as intervention group) and Binh Luc C (as control group) in Binh Luc district, Ha Nam province in 6 months indicates that: the prevalence of anemia was 14.6 percent, the prevalence of iron deficiency was 32 percent. 43.1 percent of anemia was iron deficiency. Correlation between mother's occupation with prevalence of iron deficiency anemia. After 6 months of intervention with nutrition education and communication, knowledge and practice of schoolgirl on preventing iron deficiency anemia has improved in the intervention group compares to the control group. Practice regularly eat iron-rich foods increased from 74.5 percent to 99.5 percent after intervention had statistically significant with p 0.01. The prevalence of anemia in school intervention decreased from 13.3 percent to 6.9 percent, the rate of iron deficiency gone down from 41.5 percent to 31.9 percent had statistically significant with p 0.05.
