MS/MS or Tandem mass spectroscopy (MS), used Electron Capture Dessociation (ECD) on the Fourier Transformation Ion Cyclotron Resonance Mass Spectroscopy (FT-ICR-MS), can be a high-throughput tool for protein and peptide characterization in proteomics. For the first time in Vietnam, this advanced technique was successfully applied to confirmation the structure of oxytocin - A mammalian hormonal peptide that functions as a neurotransmitter in the brain.
