 Dengue fever / dengue hemorrhagic fever (SD / DHF) is an infectious disease with high morbidity and mortality. The main mosquito vectors are Aedes aegypti and Aedes albopictus. The distribution of these mosquitoes depends on many factors such as natural and socioeconomic conditions and fluctuates constantly. Results of investigation in Hanoi in 2012 showed that indexes of Ae. aegypti and Ae. albopictus were relatively low: DI = 0.02 (0 0.14)
  AHI = 1.52 (0 - 9.88)
  HI = 12.50 (2.5 to }6.29). BI = 8.90 (from 1.25 to 23.13) and Dan Phuong was the only district with BI higher than 20. Mosquito density in urban districts was higher than in suburban districts. DI increased from March to November and the highest were in May
  August and November. BI was highest from May to December. DI and BI of Ae. aegypti were higher in urban districts while those indicators of Ae. albopictus were higher in suburban districts. The rate of water containers with fish was low. The rate infestation by larvae of Aedes was highest in discarded containers (15.85 percent) and very low in water storage tanks (0.91 percent).
