Purpose: Evaluate the result of treatment of 57 hepatic injuries at Viet-Tiep hospital from 2007 to 2010. Material and method: A study including 57 hepatic injury patients, among them 29 cases was in retrospective study, the others were in prospetive one. Result: The mean age was 31.6 + or - 6.35, range from 18 to 65, sex ratio was 4.18/1. The main causes were transport accident (78.95 percent), work accident (14.03 percent), activity accident (7.02 percent). The hepatic trauma grade was perfomed from I to V, graded by APST. The most common was II-III grade (82 percent). There were 22 cases who underwent non-operative management (38.6 percent) and 35 patients underwent exploration (62.4 percent). Patients operated via techniques of: suture, packing, resection and debridement. Among them, the suture was the most frequency (60 percent). Conclusion: The liver is the second most commonly injured organs in abdominal trauma. The operative techniques were suture, packing, resection and debridement. In addition, the non-operative management was sucessful incase of hemodynamic stability, mild injury, and non-associated injury.
