Purpose
Considering the result of inguinal hernia surgery by Desarda method at Viet Tiep hospital, HaiPhong. Subject: All the patients over 16 year-old, diagnosed as a first time of inguinal hernia- one side or both, had surgery by Desarda method at Viet Tiep Hospital - Hai Phong, from September-2009 to September-2011. Methods:Prospective study descriptive study, uncontrol. Results: The time of oprerating for one side is about 57,37 + or - 7,27 mins. Level of pain: 73.7 percent is mild, 26.3 percent is moderate, none is severe or more. The time of pain after operating: 34.2 percent in the first day, 57.9 in two days, 7.9 percent having pain until the third day. Duration of hospital stay: from 5 to 9 days is92.1 percent
No catastrophe in operation. The complication: Retention: 01 case (2.6 percent)
Urinary disorders: 01 case (2.6 percent)
Paresthesias of inguinalscrotale area: 03 cases (7,9 percent)
Another results: 01 case having paresthesias of inguinal-scrotale area (2.6 percent) during 3-4 months after operating
early recurrence: none. Conclusion: Inguinal hernia surgery by Desarda method is a simple method, limit the complication in operating and then, patients recover their strength well, efficient and cheap.
