Introduction: Carcinoma of the urinary bladder is the most commonly encountered cancer in males. The standard treatment for the invasive tumor is radical cystectomy and urinary diversion. Purpose: Evaluate results of Camey II procedure in treatment of bladder cancer at Viet-Tiep hospital. Patients and methods: In this study, the authors describe propective of 16cases operated by Camey II procedure for treatment of bladder cancer at Viet-Tiep hospital from 2005 to 2011. Result: The mean age was: 63,2 + or - 8
The mean hospitalization periode was: 29,07 + or - 6,06 days
The mean operation time was: 244 + or - 23 minutes. Operation result: Time of cystectomy was 90 + or - 15 minutes
Time of bladder reconstruction was 155 + or - 15 minutes
The quantity of blood lost during operation was 300ml - 350ml
Bladder volume measured at operation: average 160ml. Early complication: 3 cases of bladder fistul who was healed themselves after insertion of Foley catheter
Incontinence: 4. Among 14 cases of follow-up examination: 100 percent of them has bladder volume 150ml. The mean post-void residual was 52,6 + or - 22,02ml. Conclusion: Bladder reconstruction by ileum in Camey II prosedure has good bladder form and goood funtional voiding outcomes.
