The studies on growth parameters of Sa Dien cultivar at Hiep Hoa district (Bac Giang province) in 2010 and in spring 2011 showed the following initial results: 1- The survival rate of Sa Dien cultivar trial at Hiep Hoa district - Bac Giang province reached 100 percent. 2- Growth parameters: - Spring sprouts in 2010: average number of sprouts: 3.24 sprouts/plant
sprout base diameter: 0.30 cm
sprout length: 11.44 cm
and on average there were 7.12 leaves per bud
- Winter sprouts in 2010: average number of sprouts: 3.27 sprouts/plant

branch base diameter: 0.33 cm
sprout length: 10.65 cm
and on average there were 7.13 leaves per bud. 3- Fluctuation in growth between seasons: there were significant differences in sprout lengths
