The diesel oil degradable Klebsiella sp. G10 strain was isolated from the Viet Hoang petroleum storage tanks in Thai Nguyen province. The G10 strain belongs to Gram-positive group with round, convex, glossy, wet, opalescent colonies, diameter from 1.8 to 2.2 mm in size. The G10 has short rod-shaped cell, obtuse and size of 0.6 - 0.8
1.6 - 2.3 um. Based on some of morphological and nucleotide sequence of the gene encoding 165 rRNA fully, G10 strain has highly homologous with other strains of the genus Klehsiella and it was named Klebsiella sp. G10. Klebsiella sp. G10 strain could grow well in mineral medium supplemented with 10 percent diesel oil and has capacity of degrading up to 5,316 mg/l of diesel oil after 7 days of shaking culture.
