Investigation on husbandry and diseases of chicken herds raising out-door in three communes of Yen The district, Bac Giang province and concentratively in-door in three communes of Chuong My district, Hanoi city was conducted from June, 2012 to March, 2013. The investigated result showed that: For the chicken herds raising out-door in Yen The district: There was 82.4 percent of households raising chicken with average number of chicken was 412.3 per cycle per household. This chicken number reduced 57.3 percent compared to the year 2011 (719 chickens per cycle per household). For the chicken herds raising concentratively in-door in Chuong My district: There was only 1.38 percent of household number involved in this raising system with an average number of chicken was 4345 chickens per household. The rate of in-door chicken raising household was very low compared to the year 2008 (11.96 percent) and the year 2010 (9.38 percent). For epidemic disease in chicken raising out-door: The highest infection rate belonged to the diseases: coccidiosis, Black head disease, CRD, Leucocytozoon (100 percent), following was Marek, IB, IT, lLT (60-70 percent)
Newcastle disease, Gumboro, Fowl pox were rarely found
H5N1 was not found. For epidemic diseases in chicken raising concentratively in-door: The highest infection rate was coccidiosis, CRD and IB (100 percent)
