Within the framwork of the project in "caries risk factors" of dental deparment of Khanh Hoa medical college, the author conducted a cross-sectional study to report on oral health status and to assess indicators shown to be assiociated with dental caries of 3-5-year-old in Nha Trang city. A random sample of 330 children was examined for caries using the International Caries Detection and Assessment System criteria (ICDAS). Rick factor investigated in the other research of the project was analysed with caries. Poor oral hygiene and salivary viscosity were the associated factor that increased the children having over 7 carious surfaces nd only poor oral hygiene was the rick factor that increased the having over 11 carious surface. The result of this study emphasizes the importance of multiflying the risk factor in order to have treatment plans that are apppropriate for diffirent objectives.
