The research objective was to assess knowledge, attitudes and pratices of blood donation of voluntary blood donors in Thua Thien Hue province. Samples of 300 voluntary blood donors, aged 18 to 60 living in three districts (Huong Thuy, Phu Yang and Phong Dien) in Thua Thien Hue province. Interviews with voluntary blood donors in donation drives in communities. Using the knowledge questions, attitudes and pratices on blood donation of the Association of American blood banks to draft interview questionaire and modified to suit the socio-economic characteristics of local research. The results were follows: the rate of voluntary blood donors have good knowledge, right attitude and pratice of blood donation in accordance with respectively 71.3 percent, 66.0 percent and 62.3 percent. The is a link between levels of education of blood donors with the knowledge, attitudes and pratices in blood donation. There is an association between age and professional blood donors with attitude and pratice of blood donation.
