Parapharyngeal space (PPS) are the belignant or malignant tumors and identified, namely those of salivary origin, neurogenic tumors and paragangliomas. Objective: Analysis of surgical approaches to primary tumors localized in parapharyngeal space used in Head and Neck Cancer Department .Materials and methode: A retrospective of 53 patients from Central Otorhinolaryngology Hospital who were diagnosed as PPS and underwent excision from 2005 to January 2010. Results: Rate seen in men 51.04 percent), more than women 49.06 percent. In the malignant tumors (10/53 - 18.8 percent): the cervical lymph node( 60 percent), the time of evolution (under tree month 80 percent), the contrast absorbed (90 percent), hypersignal 100 percent 2 Transcervical, transparotid Conclusions: Planning of surgical procedure for parapharyngeal space tumor should be based upon analysis of diagnostic images and selection of the approach depends on tumor localization, size and histopathology.
