Emissions from ships are one of the vital factor that contribute to the air pollution. Some projects have been conducted for quantification of these emision in the world. Using aproach of these projects to quantify the emission of ships in a port or channel of Vietnam is necessary for assessing the degree of pollute in an specific area. This paper using an aproach of the Entec project to quantify the emission from ships that sailling along the Sai Gon river and stay in port of Ho Chi Minh city for the year 2009 in order to give a comprehensive picture on this matter.
