Objectives: Describe some epidemiology, clinical characteristics of herpes zoster treatment at the department of dermatology in Thai Nguyen central general hospital and hospital No.103. Subjects and Methods: 71 patients with herpes zoster (convenience sampling) treated at Department of Dermatology in Thai Nguyen Central General Hospital and Hospital No.103, inthe period from 7/2010 - 7/2011. Study design: cross-sectional descriptive study. Results: rate of male: 53.5 percent, female: 46.5 percent. Age is a common disease in 50 (70.41 percent), of which 22.53 percent.of patients over 70 years old. Letion positions often seen were: inter-rib (42.1 percent), followed by area of head-face-neck (23.7 percent), 9.86 percent legs, hands 8.45 percent.The rate of patient with pain was 100 percent, swollen neighboring glands (63.38 percent), fever: 8.45 percent, tied: 16.9 percent. Conclusion: Herpes zoster occur in any season of the year, with typical clinical symptoms such as literature and the diverse clinical phenotypes.
