The study was carried out on 1186 children aged from 6 months to 15 years old in Central Highland Region to describe the risk factors for Helicobacter pylori (HP) infection in 2011. The results showed that risk for HP infection in children with history of collective life in early infancy was 1.5 times higher than that of other children. Risk for HP infection in children with history of or being with gastro-duodenal diseases was 1.4 times higher than that of other children. Risk for HP infection in children received antibiotics ~ 4 times/year and those who lived in households using latrine was 0.6 times lower than that in others. In the multi-variate analysis, only children used antibiotics 1-2 times/years and those with early collective life were of higher risk for HP infection (1.5-1.8 times, respectively) than others. From the results of the present study, the authors suggest that it's necessary to further analyze other risk factors related to their parents and other household members in order to have relevant evidence of HP risk factors among these children.
