In this study, the effect of fabrication technology parameters such as temperature, pressure and press time on the properties of polymer composite based on ultra-high molecular weight polyethylene (UHMWPE) were investigated and charaterized. The result reveals that the fabrication technology parameters have strong effects on the properties of polymer composite. At the optimal fabrication conditions such as temperature of 130°C, pressure of 170 kG/cm2 and press time of 40 min, the UHMWPE composite achieved the best mechanical properties including the tensile strength of 325.6 MPa, the bending strength of 175.8 MPa and the impact strength of 98.3 kJ/m2. These technologies for fabrication of UHMWPE composite could be used for production of new generation of body armour.
