The prevalences of HBV genotypes, subgenotypes, mutations and their clinical significance are very often reported recently. The aims of this study was to find out the prevalences of HBV genotypes, subgenotypes and mutations in chronic hepatitis B (CHB) patients. Methods: 71 patients with chronic hepatitis B (AHB) were enrolled in this study. HBV genotypes, subgenotypes and mutations were detected by direct sequencing in Nagoya University (Japan). Results: Genotypes Band C are the most popuplar in CHB patients (80.3 percent and 18.3 percent). All of them have subgenotypes B4 and C1. BCP1764 and PC1896 occured in 37,1 percent patients. AG mutation was mostly founded in BCP1764 group (69.2 percent). G mutation was detected in 65.4 percent of PC1896 group. In group of BCP 1764, patients with AG mutation have high level ofHBV DNA (55.6 percent 107 copies/mL). Patients with TA and A mutations have HBeAg (-) relatively high (62.5 percent). Conclusions:
This research showed new data in prevalences of HBV genotypes, subgenotypes and some mutations in CHB patients in Central Vietnam.
