Produce sets of identifying cell panel with high quality and specific of Vietnamese in NIHBT is necessary to supply big hospitals and big transfusion centres in Vietnam to identify irregular antibody for blood donors and patients then selecting matched blood units to transfuse for patients. Objective: Study on quality of identifying cell panel in NIHBT. Ma,erials: 5 lots of identifying cell panel which were made in NIHBT from December 2009 to May 2010 and 1 set of identifying cell panel which was made in National Blood Centre Thailand Red Cross Society in January 2010. Methods: cross-sectional survey. Using tube technique and gelcard technique to assess agglutination of blood group antigens and direct Coombs test, hemolysis observation and measure red cell concentration by automachine. Results: all sets of identifying cell panel's DAT are negative, agglutination of antigens of some blood group systems: Rh, Lewis, Kidd, MNS, Mia and Duffy maintain from 3+ to 4+. Red cell concentration maintains from 3 to 5 percent and not hemolysis immediately after produce, preservation after 2 weeks and 4 weeks. Results of irregular antibodies identification test by using NIHBT's identifying cell panel is suitale with results of irregular antibodies identification test by using National Blood Centre Thai Red Cross Society's identifying cell panel. Conclusions: Sets of identifying cell panel which were made in NIHBT are high quality to deploy irregular antibodies identification test in hospitals and transfusion centres.
