Composite membrane has been fabricated from cellulose acetate and cellulose nitrate using cotton as a supporting material. The sublayer of membrane is made of cellulose nitrate and the top layer is formed from cellulose acetate. Influence of preparation conditions on characteristics of each layer has been investigated in terms of casting solution composition, membrane thickness and evaporation time of solvent. The optimum conditions for each layer have been chosen for preparation of composite membrane, which could have a good separation property in both flux of filtrate and rejection for yeast in beer solution after fermentation process.
