Objective: To describe epidemic, the clinical and para-clinical characteristics of patients with pertussis. Subject: All children with pertussis admitted to National hospital of Pediatrics from June, 1st, 2010 to May, 31st, 2012. Methods: retrospective descriptive study. Results: All most cases were in infants under 6 months (93.6 percent), and unvaccinated (89.4 percent). The main symptoms were paroxysm with pale (95.9 percent) and secretion sputum (65 percent). Most common complication is bronchopneumonia (56.1 percent), severe complications are rare. Hyperleukemia correlated with respiratory distress in whooping cough patients. Conclusion: whooping cough is usually in infants under 6 months unvaccinated, so need to pay attention vaccination schedule for children and consider Tdap vaccine recommendation for pregnant women.
