Objective: research of clinical and laboratory features and the assessment of the results of treatment of hypokalemia in Pediatric Intensive Care Unit. Materials and Methods: 52 patients who have hypokalemia (K+ 3.5 mmol/l) are treated in Pediatric Intensive Care Unit at National Hospital of Pediatric from January 2011 to June 2011. Results: the rate of hypokalemia is 10.5 percent, it devided into severe hypokalemia (6 percent), moderate hypokalemia (69 percent) and mild hypokalemia (25 percent). Some factors related to the hypokalemia such as uses of cathecholamin, diuretic (furosemide). The clinical features of hypokalemia are tachycardia, decreased of blood pressure, changes in the ECG with T wave, T wave plus U wave those are commqn happened in severe hypokalemia. After providing Kali following protocol, blood Kali lever increased progessively througth every stage and improvement of clinical features, ECG. None acidents and complications happens. Conclustions: hypokalemia is a common condition in patients who stay in Pediatric Intensive Care Unit. Needing the attention of clinical and laboratory features of hypokalemia in Pediatric Intensive Care Unit for treating early.
