The paper introducted the optimum conditions for solvent extraction of zirconium (Zr) trom inorganic and organic acidic medium by CTAB, D2EHPA in organic solvent. The trist, these was absorption spectra of xylenol orange complexes (XO) of Zr in HCl, H2SO4, HNO3, HAc, H2C2O4 medium 0.1 M, indicated that ZrXO show a maxium absorption wawe length 550.5nm. The second, these established calibration curves for the determination of Zr, the concentration was trom 1 to 15ppm. Respect, the newpaper indicatied the optimum conditions for solvent extraction of Zr: the concentration of CTAB (5.10-5 to 10-2M) in C6H6 with medium of extraction was organic acidic (HAc, H2C2O4)
the concentration of D2EHPA (10-4-10-2M) in n-C6H14 with HCl 1M
with a extractant concentration, CCl4 and n-C6H14 solvent effected better than C6H6, CHCl3. Addtion of some salt increased the efficiency extraction of Zr and follow the order: (NH4)2SO4NH4ClNaClNaNO3 KNO3KSCN. With CTAS indicated HNO3 3M as the best strip agent with the efficiency 88.1 percent
but with D2EHPA, the concentration of strip agent H2SO4 (1-3M) had the efficiency more 80 percent.
