Backgrounds: Since 1997, The No.108 Military Central Hospital participated in medical care for retired military officersand military family members. To better care and treat patients, since 2009, the Hospital has consolidated the examination process. Objective: To evaluate the effectiveness of the new medical examination and treatment process for retired military officers and military family members with health insurance card. Subjects and Methods: Using the medical examination and treatment indicesfor retired military officers and military family members. Cross sectional descriptive study, retrospective and comparison between the 2 periods. Results: Comparison of data between the two periods, 2009 to 2012 and 2006 to 2008, showed that: The number of patient visits for medical examination increased 1.6 times, inpatient increased 1.4 times (p 0,01). The hospital bed occupancy rate was still approximately 24 percent, however, after 7 years, the number of beds increased 1.4 times. After 7 years, the hospital stay for treatment on the average decreased from 1.5 to 1.9 days. Conclusion: After the medical examination and treatment process for retired military officers and military family members has been improved, all medical and professional indices increased.
