The residual dyes in dyeing effluent can be removed by membrane filtration method using nanofiltration membrane. The filtration parameters that influence on separation process efficiency has been investigated in terms of concentration of dyes, type of dyes, separated pressure and so on. The experimental results indicated that separation efficiency of membrane strongly depends on filtration conditions and, membrane nanofiltration that could be a promising method for separation and removal of residual dyes from dyeing effluent with a very good retention at acceptable flux. Furthermore, the obtained results also reveal that the filtration performance of membrane could be recovered and membrane can be reused well after careful cleaning.
