Amodiaquine is one of main drugs in the new global strategy of combination therapies for the control of malaria. The amodiaquine/artesunate combination drug has been recommended by WHO to use for the treatment of malaria. Previously, we have synthesized the amodiaquine from 4,7-dichloroquinoline in 3 steps. In continuation of our research, herein, the authors describe another method for the synthesis of amodiaquine. The structure of amodiaquine and intermediate products were estabilished by MS and NMR spectroscopies.
