Wound healing activity of cream Herbavera was evaluated in experimental burn wound model in rabbits. Rate of wound contraction and hydroxyproline (HYP) content were determined to assess the woundhealing activity of the cream Herbavera. Results showed that cream Herbavera promotes significant wound healing in burn rabbits. There were no significantly difference in HYP levels and rate of wound contraction in burn rabbits treatment with local Herbavera in comparision to burn rabbits treatment with local silver sulfadiazine (SSD) 1 percent (p 0.05). However, HYP levels and rate of wound contraction in burn rabbits treatment with local Herbavera were significantly higher in comparison to burn rabbit with local treatment with saline (p 0.001). The results suggest that cream Herbavera promotes significant wound healing in burn rabbits and further evaluation for this activity in patients with heating burn.
