Sample and methodology: sample of study comprises 300 students, studying in Hai Phong Medical University. Method of study is cross sectioned description. 300 students were selected in accordant with study's criteria. All were examined and taken impressed to make study cast for describe occlusion's characteristics. Goal of study is to describe reality of malocclusion in group of the student to determine orthodontic treatment need and propose some preventive program. Result: According to Angle's classification of malocclusion: Ratios of normal occlusion, class I , class II and class III malocclusion are 25.3 percent, 24.7 percent, 25.3 percent and 24.7 percent respectively
ratio of malocclusion is 74.7 percent. Mild crowded upper teeth possesses 55 percent and mild crowded lower teeth does 60.7 percent. Conclusion: High percentage of malocclusion was seen in the study although the result is lower than result of other study. The difference of malocclusion distribution between male and female has no statistically significant. In both jaw, mildly insuffident space is most common and excessive space follows.
