Nowadays, MCM-48 silicas are among the most interesting mesoporous materials and they have attracted much attention for potential applications to make the supports for polyfunctional catalysts. Thus, the scientists payed much attention to find the most economic route to synthesise MCM-48 silicas. Assembly using Pluronic P123 triblock copolymer (EO20-PO70-EO20) and n-butanol mixture is a facile route to synthesise MCM-48-like ordered large mesoporous silicas with the cubic la3d mesostructure. The cubic phase domain is remarkably extended by using the different amounts of n-butanol and silica source. In this report, the synthesis of MCM-48 silica using a commercially available triblock copolymer (EO20-PO70-EO20)-n-butanol mixture for the structure direction in aqueous solution was investigated. Then, MCM-48 silicas were modified by titanium oxide with different amounts. The structural characteristics of obtained materials were determined by X-ray diffraction, BET, and TEM methods and their catalytic activity in gas phase oxidation reaction of LPG was studied. Catalyst 1.0Ti/MCM-48 is best for hydrocarbon oxidation at 450°C (conversion of LPG 72 percent).
