The study was conducted on 97 type 2 diabetes patients, aiming at determining the varieties of concentration of microalbuminuria in type 2 diabetes patients in Vietnam using different urine samples. The results showed that the prevalence of microalbuminuria in type 2 diabetes patients was 42 percent. Comparing with 24 hour microalbuminuria, moming albuminuria/creatinuria (mg/g) index showed the sensitivity was 97.56 percent and the specificity was 87.50 percent
with random urine sample those values were 85.37 percent and 71.43 percent, respectively. Therefore, can use the random urine samples and moming urine samples to screen and monitor during treatment for type 2 diabetes patients.
