In this study, the iron and carbon co-doped TiO2 catalysts (Fe-C-TiO2) were synthesized by a conventional sol-gel method followed by hydrothermal treatment. The typical characteristics of the obtained materials were examined. The photocatalytic degradation under visible light of pesticide using the synthesized materials with assistance of H2O2 was investigated. The result indicated that more than 90 percent of methomyl was decomposed after 480 min illumination by a compact lamp. Furthermore, the mineralization of pesticides was also examined through the formation of anions during the photocatalytic reaction. The significant increases of ammonium and nitrate concentration were observed as methomyl concentration decreased.
