The study was carried out in 1186 children under 16 years old in Central Highland Region to describe the prevalence of H. pylori infection in 2011. The overall prevalence of H. pylori infection among this study population was 40 percent. There was a trend of increased H. pylori infection with increased age: 23.8 percent in children under one year of age, 29.5 percent in children from one to two years, 36.8 percent in children from three to five years, 42.6 percent in children from 5 to 10 years, and 51.5 percent in children from 10 to 15 years. There was no significant difference in prevalence of H. pylori infection among male (35.2 percent) and female children (41.1 percent). Children of Kinh nation and of K'ho ethnics living in Lam Dong province had the rate of H. Pylori infection (35.5 percent and 35.5 percent, respectively) lower than that in Ede children in Daklak and Raglay children in Gia Lai (47.6 percent and 47.5 percent, respectively). In conclusion, the prevalence of H. Pylori infection among children in Central Highland is high with a significant difference according to age, ethnicity and provinces.
