The article introduces the perspective of bad debt in the international accounting standards, international practice on banking supervision, international guidelines for calculating the national financial soundness indicators and understanding at Vietnam. In the end, the authors offer some conclusions on causes the difference in the estimated bad debt of commercial banks in Vietnam.
