Post-weaning multisystemic wasting syndrome (PMWS) due to the PCV2 is one of the emerging diseases caused the important lost for swine industry in Vietnam. To determine the PCV2 infection in Vietnam, a part of ORF2 - gene encoding capsid protein of two and eleven PCV2 strains obtained from Ho Chi Minh city and Dong Nai province respectively was sequenced and analysed to build a phylogenetic tree with the PCV2 strains referred from genebank. The studied result showed that all of the PCV2 strains isolated from Ho Chi Minh city and Dong Nai province mainly belonged to genotypes PCV2b and PCV2d. Of which, one strain isolated from Ho Chi Minh city and four strains isolated from Dong Nai province belonged to PCV2b. The rest of strains belonged to PCV2d with high similarity (99.1- 99.3 percent) compared to the PCV2 strains isolated from China in 2010.
