Genetic relationship of eighteen Parashorea chinensis samples collected from Phu Tho, Thanh Hoa, Ninh Binh and Tuyen Quang provinces were analyzed using sixteen RAPD primers and six chloroplast primer pairs, Among sixteen RAPD primers, there were twelve primers revealed polymorphic with PIC values (Polymorphic Inlimnation Content) varying from 0 (OPA04, OPN11, OPM05 and RA31) to 0.524 (OPQ04). The number of DNA fhtgments amplified ranged from 1 to 9. with sizes ranged from 300 bp to 2000 bp. Amplification of genomic DNA, yielded 72 fragments, of which 44 were polymorphic (accounting for 39.2 percent). Genetic similarity coefficients between 18 Parashorea chinensis samples ranged from 0.507 (TH6 and TQ18) to 0.9S6 (THS and TH10, TQ19 and TQ20). The pattern of grouping in the dendrogram divided 18 Parashorea chinensis samples into 2 main groups. The first group included only TH6 sample with the genetic variation coel1icient about 41.9 percent. The second group consisted of remained 17 samples, which were classified into two subgroups, the first subgroup (11.1) included 4 samples (NB11. NB12, NB15 anj TQ16) and the second subgroup (11.2) included 12 samples (PT1, PT2, TQ17, TH8, TH10, TH7, NB13, TQ18, TQ20, PT3, TH9 and NB14) with the genetic variation cocflicient about from 1.4 percent to 23.5 percent. Nine chloroplast primer pairs used to analyze 18 Parashorea chinensis samples, there were six primer pairs amplified respective PCR products, but only primer pair Da12-F-Da12-R gave polymorphism. Nine restricted enzymes were used to evaluate the polymorphism of PCR products, however no polymorphism was observed.
