160 cases of duodenopancreatectomy were performed in BachMai Hospital from 2002 to September 2011 following a modified technic. It consisted 75 cases of cancer of pancreatic head, 67 cases of ampullary adenocarcinoma, 5 cases of chronic pancreatitis, 8 cases of duodenal tumor, 3 cases of duodenopancreatic trauma and 2 cases of cholangioma. The procedures had been done in all the cases successfully. There were 10 morbidity in the time of intervention (6.25 percent) and the mortality was on 3.75 percent. The complications postoperative were on 4 cases of peritonititis (2.5 percent), 3 cases of intra-abdominal bleeding (1.87 percent) especially 65 cases of delayed gastric emptying (40.62 percent). The long-term survival on 1, 3 and 5 year were 65.07, 34.12 and 16.66 percent respectively.
