Objectives: the aim of this study was to evaluate the indications and management results of periampullary cancers. Methods: Fromjanuary 2000 to january 2012, retrospective all 136 patients periampullary cancers underwent surgery at the Central hospital of Hue. Diagnosis by biopsy after operations. Results: medium (range) data 63,89 + or - 7,32 (33 - 87). There are 70,3 percent pateints over 60 years old. Rate malelfamle = 2. Predominant symtoms included: jaundice (82,4 percent), anorexia (97,1 percent), abdominal pain (79,4 percent). All patients was performed classical or pylorus preserving of the Whipple procedure. Pancreatic anastomosis was performed through pancreaticogastrostomy end to side in 47 cases and pancreatic nanastomosis was performed through pancreaticojejunostomy end to side in 89 cases. Complications after surgery was with leak pancreas 10(7,4 percent), bleeding digestive 3 (2,2 percent) and overall mortality after resection was 9 (6,6 percent). Conclusions: Pancreaticoduodenectomy of periampullary vater is too complex. It is many complication. Leak pancreas was severe and this complication is usually very high. Survival 3 years after Whipple procedure was (62,8 percent).
