Objectives: to assess the results of retroperitoneal laparoscopic nephrectomy for complicated non functioning kidney at Hue Central Hospital and Hue University Hospital. Materials and Methods: Study was realized on 22 patients with complicated non functioning kidney treated by retroperitoneal laparoscopic nephrectomy. Results: Male: 6 (27,3 percent), female: 16 (72,7 percent)
Mean of age: 56,75 + or - 1l,5 years old. Common cause of non functioning kidney is urinary stone (90,9 percent). Location of removed kidney: 10 right (45,5 percent), and 12 left kidneys (54,5 percent). Operating time: 125,45 + or - 30,0 minutes. Postoperative hospital stay: 5,37 + or - 2,12 days. Conversion from laparoscopic to open surgery: 2 cases (11.76 percent). Condusions: The retroperitoneal laparoscopic nephrectomy is a safe, effective method in treatment of complicated non functioning kidney.
