Objective: Evaluate the primary results of 10 patients suffered from a complete acromioclavicular separation following trauma. Material and method: Retro-Descriptive study based on CRF of 10 patients who were operated on by surgical repair of the coracoclavicular joint separation using the palmaris longus tendons at the Department of Surgery, Hospital Nam Dinh. Results: From Feb. 2010 to Jun 2011, 10 patients including 6 males and 4 females, age range from 21-24 age-years
Cause of the most often is traffic accidents (6 patients)
associated lesions: one inferior radial frcture and one thoracic trauma
Rackwood classification: type III, 5 patients
type IV, 4 patients
type V, 1 patient and no type VI. The diameter of the greffon: 3mm in 3 patients
4mm in 5 patients and 5mm in 2 patients. There was not any severe postoperative complication. Classification of results according to Kawabe: Excellent in 8 patients, good in 2 patients. Conclusion: The surgical repair using the palmaris longus tendons for the coracoclavicular joint separation is a safe and effective procedure.
