Ngo Thi Nham (1746-1803) was a great thinker, politician and educator who had a strong influence on the history of Vietnam in the late eighteenth century. In Ngo Thi Nham were combined a man of action and a man of philosophical reflection. He advocated educating the masses to instill proper behavior in accordance with Confucian standards, focusing on the virtues: loyalty, filial piety, benevolence and righteousness.
