Fuzzy control has achieved successes and high efficiency in automatic control systems. Hedge-Algebra, a soft computing tool, is developed from fuzzy logic and can be effectively applied in control. Design method of Hedge-Algebra based controller is simple and has the ability to compute with higher precision than the fuzzy controller is. Then, it opens the possibility to apply a new theory in the design of industrial automation systems. This paper presents the advantages of the design method of Hedge-Algebra based controller in comparison with the design method of fuzzy controller.
